There are so many businesses and individuals in Silverton, Ouray, Telluride, Lake City, and the San Juan communities who provide the run invaluable support!
Avalanche Brewing Company & Cafe
Seriously, y'all. The coffee shop formerly known as Avalanche Cafe, now called Avalanche BREWING Company, is the best place in town to do everything a human being might like to do: drink coffee, eat breakfast, surf the interwebs, have pizza, eat a lemon bar, have a cocktail or a beer... it's pretty much everything to anyone who will open their screen door.
"This place is a gem! It far exceeded every expectation in terms of both selection, service and other customers - who were all lovely!"
A small full scale grocery store. Great produce and better sandwiches.
Ever wonder where the bountiful goodies you feast on at aid station comes from? Silverton Grocery is a wonderful partner to Hardrock, providing thousands of dollars of food to Hardrock each year at huge discounts, and navigating our occasionally confusing orders and last-minute panics. When you stop in there, make sure to say Thanks! to Mark and his staff - the run couldn't exist without them!
High Country Market
High Country Market in Lake City is a Hardrock partner and a darn good store, to boot! Feel like heading over to the little town on your way to Sherman aid station? This market is exactly what you need in the quaint little fishing town. Enjoy!
Silverton Mountain is out of this world! Backcountry downhill skiing for the true San Juan fan.
"Here you will find amazing lines in every direction and one chairlift perfectly located to deliver you to the goods. Imagine a place where the average total snowfall of over 400" exceeds the amount of daily visitors. Advanced and expert only riding, no groomers, no clearcut runs and a real mountain experience with plenty of adventure on tap. All thrills no frills."
See those tents at all the aid stations? Those are from our partners at Global Shelters. They're tough and awesome!
